Privacy Policy

Lista is an app for saving the places you want to remember — restaurants, cafés, hotels, and things to do — writing your own notes on them, sharing lists with people you choose, and turning saved places into a trip. This page explains, in plain words, what Lista collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Your account

  • Email address — to sign you in, send invites, and send service emails (sharing notifications, account messages).
  • Name or username — shown on lists you choose to share, as "Shared by …".
  • A user ID — an internal identifier linking your content to your account.

What you create in the app

  • Places you add — by searching, importing a list from Google Maps, pasting text, or importing from a social post (TikTok or Instagram) — along with any notes, statuses, and trips you build from them. This is private to your account unless you turn on a share link yourself.

How the app is used

  • Aggregate feature counters, such as how often each way of adding a place is used — for example, how many times search, Google Maps import, pasted text, or social import are each used. These are not tied to your individual account; they're combined totals used to see which parts of Lista work.

Location

Your location is sent to Google Places when you use "near me" sorting, so we can find places close to you. It is not stored on our own servers — it is only used for that request, at that moment.

What we do not collect

  • No photos, no camera access, no contacts. No advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking or analytics SDK — Lista shows no ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.

3. Why we use it

  • To create your account and sign you in.
  • To store your places, notes, and trips, and keep them available to you.
  • To show place details — ratings, opening hours, and photos.
  • To let you share a list when you turn sharing on, and to notify you when someone shares with you.
  • To send service email — invites, sharing notifications, account messages.
  • To see which parts of Lista are used, so we can improve it.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations.

4. Who else is involved

Google Places

We fetch place details — ratings, opening hours, photos, addresses — from Google and cache them on our servers so pages load quickly. When you use "near me" sorting, your location is also sent to Google as part of that request, to find places close to you. This data is governed by Google's own terms.

AI place summaries

  • The short summary shown on a place card is generated by an AI model from public Google reviews of that place. No user data goes to the model: not your account, not your notes, not your saved places, not your location.

Hosting and infrastructure

  • Supabase stores and processes data on our behalf, under contract, and only to run Lista.

People you share with

  • Sharing is off by default. When you turn on a share link for a list, anyone who has that link can open it — it opens in the device's browser, outside the app, without needing to sign in — and see that list and the name on your profile. Treat a share link as public. You can switch it off again at any time, which stops new visits.

Legal requests

  • We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

5. Where data is stored

Data is stored on servers operated by Supabase in the United States. If you are outside the US, your data is transferred there to run the service.

6. How long it is kept

We keep your account data and your content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your places, lists, notes, and trips are deleted, and any share links you created stop working. Cached place data from Google and generated place summaries are not personal to you and may be kept.

7. Deleting an account or data

  • In the app: go to the Account tab and choose Delete Account. A confirmation message explains that all your information will be deleted, and you confirm before it proceeds.
  • By email: write to support@yourlista.com from your account's email address, and we will delete it for you.

Either way, your places, lists, notes, and trips are deleted, and any share links you created stop working immediately.

8. Choices and rights

  • See and edit your places, notes, and trips at any time in the app.
  • Turn any share link on or off.
  • Turn off location for Lista in iOS Settings — the app still works without it.
  • Ask us to delete your data: support@yourlista.com.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection law, including the right to complain to a regulator.

9. Children

Lista is a general-audience app. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, write to support@yourlista.com and we will remove it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data — encryption in transit, and access limited to people who need it. No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email.
